(From CNN.com) "HARROLD, Texas (AP) -- A tiny Texas school district will allow teachers and staff members to carry concealed firearms to protect against school shootings, provided the gun-toting employees follow certain requirements."
The reason the superintendent gives is that the school is a 30-minute drive from the closest Sherriff's Office, so they would have no way to get reinforcement should something bad happen. Right - because in all other school shootings around the country, the police really had time to come stop it.
This is great... Now we are communicating to the youngsters of the world that the only way to fight violence is with concealed firearms. That is an awesome message and will really help us move in the right direction.
Does anybody else feel like we're moving backwards?
